Rise of the Dragon - a Kamen Rider story!!!

I've decided that I need to develop some skills at literature, so I am making a few fanfics based on existing stories & well known characters.

And since I wanted to do something different than Transformers, I decided to start on the Kamen Rider topic. Here I will post the plot details of my first story: Kamen Rider - Rise of the Dragon as my interpretation of a popular American TV-show "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight"

The main story plot ties around with Kit Taylor – a young high school student. As much as he seems ordinary, there is a side hidden to the others… Since early childhood he was able to see much more, than an ordinary man. In every mirror… In every window… In every reflective surface he could see other worlds, different from our own. As a child he had feared most to be left alone. His mother died early, which had a bad impression on young Kit. In order to control his fears and be able to live normally, he started his own diary, in which he noted everything he had seen in the mirrors. The fear slowly turned into interest and became like a hobby for Kit Taylor.

As years passed, the fear was gone, as much he wasn’t surprised to see something weird in some mirror. He began a normal school-life, not knowing that all his courage, knowledge & abilities will play an important role in the near future…

Unknown to him, there was a hidden danger between the dimensions. Some time in the future strange things began to occur – a lot of people went missing without a trace and those, who were found, were in coma. One day the same thing has happened to Kit’s father – he went missing and the police wasn’t able to find him. That was a huge shock for a 16-year old teenager. Ever since then, his life went upside-down. He even got involved in some trouble with the police and got a record.

Luckily his uncle (mother’s brother) was a head police officer & was able to soft-up his punishment. Kit got temporary adulated and lived with him ever since.

Then one day – it happened! There was another wave of people disappearance & as rumors were told, there were monsters sighted in narrow street corners. Those rumors were 100% true, but people didn’t know the true size of the catastrophe, that awaited them.

As Kit became aware of the rumors, he realized that those monsters were from other dimensions. Another thing was that all the missing people had strange abilities like him, as it was learned from police reports his uncle was working with. Kit decided to help with the investigation in his own way, as he thought that would bring him on a trail of his missing father.

Kit’s personal investigations lead him into a story, which had changed his life forever! When the monsters attacked him, an unknown warrior in red high-tech armor appeared on the scene & with the help of his red mechanical dragon, has destroyed the monsters.

That was Adam – a warrior from another dimension – Ventara, also known as Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. As he was injured in battle, Kit brought him to his uncle’s home. After some time Adam almost completely restored & became like an older brother to Kit, a brother that he never had.

And then, the unexpected happened. As Kit and Adam were walking at a narrow street, a gang of monsters appeared & began an attack on them. Adam transformed into a Kamen Rider, but was overpowered. His armor collapsed & disappeared. His morpher, alias the Advent Deck was thrown away. Kit ran and picked it up. It glowed bright in his hand and turned from the original red color to black.

Then the unexpected happened – Kit transformed into a modified version of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, right before the eyes of the monsters & shocked Adam. Kit has summoned the red dragon and defeated the monsters. After that it was revealed, that Adam can not use the modified Advent Deck and so Kit’s Rider training began. With the help of Adam and his old friend Ian – the retired Kamen Rider Camo, a 17-year old teenager became a truly powerful warrior & a defender of planet Earth.

As the training time passed, Kit began to learn more about Kamen Riders and their home world Ventara. It was revealed that there were 12 original Riders, formed as a squad to protect their planet from the advanced race of cybernetic monsters that invaded it from another dimension. The Advent Decks were constructed to tame the monsters, called Advent Beasts, in order to improve the battle armor construction & abilities. The Advent Cards in the Deck were supposed to control the most powerful actions of the Beast & summon additional Rider weaponry.

But with more experience – more trouble came in Kit’s life. It wasn’t easy to have a double-life. After long nights of patrolling the streets, he often slept at school and sometimes even missed some lessons. Kit had to keep a delicate balance in order to prevent his uncle of uncovering the shocking truth behind his late-night walks. He often spent time at Ian’s tool-shop as a part time job, working & training alongside Adam. Together they studied the modified armor and why were the Rider weapons more powerful & effective in Kit’s use. Kit told Adam about his childhood abilities & about his father’s disappearance. Ian promised that they will do their best to solve the mystery of Kit’s abilities & help him find his father.

The real rush began, when Kit (as a Kamen Rider) has saved a young journalist named Maya Yong from a gang of monsters, trying to take her to another dimension. Ever since then she was observing his heroic actions, trying to learn about his true identity, which caused even more pressure on the teenage hero. In order to stop her attempts to follow his every step, he developed a secure communication method with Maya. He referred it as becoming his partner in fighting monsters, but actually to watch on her, in order to learn how much she knows about him. And he had a good reason for that – since she was saved by him, she was watched over by agents of an unknown government organization, intended to capture Kamen Rider Dragon Knight.

But Maya had a plan of her own! She asked her school-friend Trent Mosby, a professional hacker, to trace the signal of the communication device to the source. But since Kit’s device was portable, it wasn’t that easy to trace, which helped him to keep a safe distance from Maya.

Things really heated up when Kit learned that Adam was forbidden to give his power to anyone else & soon he was dragged in a chase between an unknown organization on Earth and Ventarian search-patrol. As an outlaw on both sides, he had to keep the balance between saving the world & hiding from ventarians. He didn’t have a personal life anymore. By that time Kit began to see nightmares about a mysterious warrior in black armor, that always defeated him in a battle between Riders & he was swallowed in the dark flame of the warriors black mechanical dragon. That really disturbed Kit, but he tried not to think about it. Adam and Ian gave their best efforts into Kit’s training, so he could be prepared for anything. They really became close friends, maybe the only ones that Kit had that time.

There was a time when Kit learned about Maya’s true ambitions about revealing him. One day Trent went to Ian’s tool-shop & ran into Kit. As it was revealed they were classmates & old friends. After a long conversation Trent invited him to his house, to see his new computer server. As a hacker Trent had a lot of cool high-tech toys & Kit was clearly interested in them. When the door-bell rang & Trent asked Kit to see who it was, he probably got the biggest shock in his life – it was Maya. He tried to act as calm as he could, not to reveal himself. Trent introduced him to Maya as his classmate from early high school. As they went to another room to talk, Kit caught some of their conversation & became aware, that Trent was tracking his communication device and analyzing all his battles with monsters to reveal the ’mysterious superhero identity’ for Maya.

Kit tried to stay away from close relations with Maya since then, but he often visited Trent, in order to throw him off his tracks. Then he learned something very interesting from Trent – that he had once hacked an unknown super-secure server, in order to investigate paranormal activities in the city. There was a huge amount of info about Kamen Riders (not just Dragon Knight, but Camo as well), that stated about incidents since almost five years ago. That sure surprised Kit and he asked Trent to track down the server’s location.

The info leads Kit to the old abandoned police station in the old part of the city. There he runs into Tom – his middle-school classmate. As the further investigation reveals, Tom is a special agent of IDWSA (Inter-Dimensional World-Saving Association) that investigates activity of outer-dimensional beings on Earth. There Tom & JTC (his associate hacker) gather information about disappearing people, battles between Kamen Riders & monsters and much more unknown stuff.

Kit decides to ask Tom about his father’s disappearance. He agrees to help Kit & let him know all the information he might need. This way Kit had the organization as his ally & far off his tail as a Kamen Rider for some time. In an old storage room he finds a strange object, that turns out to be a Blank Advent Deck with no symbol on it and decides to “borrow” it for personal examination. He doesn’t know that he will need it very soon.

Meanwhile on Ventara the Rider Council of Investigation registers a change in Dragon Knight’s armor configuration and officially confirms that the Advent Deck was passed to another person. A special squad is formed in order to capture Adam & retrieve the Dragon Knight Advent Deck. Then a group of two Kamen Riders & three supporting officers was deployed for transportation to Earth.

Renewing old projects

In order to complete my Transformers series portfolio, I'm renewing some of my old projects, such as:

Stunticons Concept Art

The new photos from the set of Transformers 3, featuring the armored NASCAR vehicles a.k.a. STUNTICONS are awesome! At one of the forums on TFW2005 most fans say that only Decepticon Drag Strip is missing at the set. It would be very interesting to see a concept of a fully armored F1 racing-car in the city!!! At first I made a few pencil sketches to see what adjustments might be needed to create an armored Stunticon concept. Then I looked up a few interesting details for the weapons & armoring, like a mine-sweeper at front. Finally I've put a huge jet-engine at the back to resemble the other Stunticons.

All this has inspired me to do my own Stunticon concept art & later maybe I'll make a battle scene between Menasor & Superion.

So far I have an idea for two characters. I'll inform you about the progress in the following update!!!

[UPDATE 17:45 Aug 3 2010]:

Since the armed-to-the-teeth vehicles ARE NOT STUNTICONS, I'll make my own version of weapon-armed cars as Stunticons with mostly G1 color-scheme & a resemblance to the Wreckers in TF3!!!

I have started work on a concept for Motormaster!!! His vehicle mode will be the same as Optimus Prime - a Peterbilt 379 truck...

So far I have an idea for his transformation sequence...

This work will be featured at my friend's contest... I hope I win!!!

Finished the basic sketch!!! I hope, I didn't overdo it with the details...

The main idea is that he has very tough & massive armor, that gives an illusion that Motormaster isn't that fast, but in reality his mass is equally matched with advanced strength & speed...

Transformers concept art - COMBINERS(part#1)

I am starting a new line of concepts, based on the 2007-2009 Transformers movie robot design & the original characters from G1 series, R.I.D. , TFA & comic-books. The first topic for my new concept art series is "Autobot-Combiner SUPERION" This character originally appeared in the G1 series of Transformers "The Key to Vector Sigma - part 2" - in order to stop the evil Decepticons & their new weapon - the giant robot-combiner MENASOR, the heroic Autobots build a team of flying battle-machines called the AERIALBOTS: Silverbolt, Air-Raid, Sling-shot, Fireflight & Skydive. Each with his unique abilities & weaponry, together they form the ultimate Autobot warrior - Superion, designed for massive battles & sky-combat. Personally I like this character very much, that is why I'm starting my first Transformers movie universe concept art with this awesome flying machine.

I'm going to make five unique concept arts for each of the Aerialbots & then I'll make the ultimate combiner-concept of Superion.
